Molds and fungi exist in nature to break down organic materials and can be found almost everywhere in our environment both on the exterior and interior. Mold spores are present in the air that we breathe as their small size makes it easy for them to float in air. These found growing space in damp and wet areas. Problems begin in our home when the molds and fungi attach themselves to building materials such as drywall or other organic members. Different types of molds are present in the environment. Some create toxins called Mycotoxins and these fungi are sometimes labeled as toxic mold. These are found in many colors including brown, black, white or green.

Household mold is a matter of concern because of the damage that they can cause to the building materials. Their growth in our homes makes us worry because they can break down organic material to the point of failure. They are highly adaptable and grow rapidly. Exposure to mycotoxins may be significantly hazardous than that of allergenic or just irritative molds. Different people are affected differently due to the exposure of these molds. Hence it is very important to carry out a mold inspection if you find them breeding anywhere in or out of your house.

If you find fungi growing in your home or if you suspect that you have a mold problem in your house you should immediately conduct a test for mold to ensure that you and your home is safe.
